As a coach, I’ve worked with all levels and ages—from kids to competitive athletes to older adults, including parents of other coaches at our gym. My favorite style of Crossfit workout is a good ol' fashioned metcon. I love the mix of weight training and cardio, even when it swings high intensity. BA in Ceramics/ pottery design.

"Coach"

Matt Lott

I didn’t grow up with an athletic background and never really considered myself an athlete until I found CrossFit in 2013. CrossFit made me fall in love with being active, challenging myself, and discovering what my body was capable of. More than a decade later, it has become a huge part of my life—I even made friends at the CrossFit gym, and we now are still friends. I’ve continued to train for the past 13 years, while also competing in the CrossFit Open, advancing to Quarterfinals, and in my early days I even participated in a couple of local competitions. (And didn't even come in last!) As a coach, I’ve worked with all levels and ages—from kids to competitive athletes to older adults, including parents of other coaches at our gym. My favorite style of Crossfit workout is a good ol' fashioned metcon. I love the mix of weight training and cardio, even when it swings high intensity. ‍

My own journey has taught me that you don’t have to grow up as an athlete to become one. Fitness can evolve with you through competition, parenthood, injuries, and new goals. My favorite part of coaching is helping people discover what they’re capable of and building confidence both inside and outside the gym. If you can stick with it and do a really tough workout in the gym, you can approach so many other things in life the same way.
