I originally got into CrossFit in 2015 because I was looking for something different—something that would challenge me, keep me motivated, and push me outside my comfort zone. Before CrossFit, fitness was part of my life, but I had never found anything that combined strength, competition, challenge, and community quite like this.

‍

Since then, CrossFit has become so much more than a workout. It’s where I challenge myself, work through the hard stuff, celebrate the wins (big and small), and spend time with some pretty incredible people. Somewhere along the way, I went from just showing up for the workout to deciding I wanted to help other people experience what I had found.

‍

I started coaching in 2018 and hold my CrossFit Level 2 and Weightlifting certifications. I love coaching because there’s nothing better than watching someone realize they’re capable of more than they thought—whether that’s hitting a PR, finally getting a skill they’ve been chasing, or simply doing something today that they couldn’t do six months ago.

‍

My coaching style? Expect a slightly crazy warm-up, plenty of encouragement, probably some sarcasm, and the occasional reminder that we actually do have to start the workout eventually. If you’ve been in one of my particularly chatty classes, you know that getting everyone to stop talking long enough to hear the workout brief may be my most impressive coaching skill. Wrangling CrossFitters is basically functional fitness, right?

‍

My favorite part of coaching is getting to know our members and meeting them where they are. Everyone walks through the door with different goals, abilities, challenges, and reasons for being there. I want people to feel challenged, supported, and proud of what they accomplished when they walk out.

‍

My own journey has taught me that fitness isn’t about being the fastest or strongest person in the room. There are seasons when you’re chasing PRs and seasons when simply showing up is the win. Progress isn’t always linear, and comparison will steal the fun out of it pretty quickly.

‍

So if you come to one of my classes, be prepared to work hard, laugh a little, survive the warm-up…and maybe save the rest of your story for after the WOD. 😉
