CrossFit Level 1 Certification
Owner & Coach
My life journey has been anything but a straight line. I was born and raised on a farm just west of Atlanta, GA. Being the youngest of 7 siblings, my childhood was one that I cherish more each day that I grow older.
As the youngest, I spent most of my time observing and mimicking behavior traits of my older siblings. This skill set stuck with me.
Upon graduating from my University with a degree in Finance, I have spent most of my years observing and mimicking behaviors of successful influences within the corporate world.
One unwavering character trait has always been that I am a dreamer. I stepped through the doors at CrossFit Goose Creek in September of 2019. This is where I have met countless individuals with similar growth mindsets that dare to dream big. These influences became enablers for me to trust my self and take action. One day at a time & one step in front of the other. I quickly understood, home is not a place, but rather that home is a person (or in this case a community).
If there is one lesson that I will cling to in life, it is that community, generosity (both time and money), and a courage will solve 99% of the problems that you will face.
Community is a village. We all show up, hold each other accountable, support and encourage each other, and provide opportunities.
Generosity is fulfilling. This goes hand in hand with community. Sacrificing your time to influence and invest in someone else’s well being. I believe that donating your time is one of the least selfish endeavors that anyone can make. Our society preaches a “treat yourself” culture but I believe “treating others” is the root of all happiness.
Courage is not something you’re born with. I believe that courage is a decision. My wife purchased a necklace for me as a teenager that read “Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the determination to do something in spite of fear”. This quote is now enshrined on the wooden framing of our first home that we purchased in 2023.
One of my biggest influences in my life was a man named Jamie Perry. He was my high school baseball and football coach. This man was also the landscaper, the grounds crew, the athletic director, the electrician, the plumber, the locker room attendant, and most importantly the mentor to hundreds of men walking this earth today. His influence on my life taught me what unselfish behavior looked like. He was committed to making an impact. I believe that has spilled over into who I am as a coach and community leader today.
Speaking of sports, I will tie up this “about me” novel with my background within fitness and sports.
I was a lifelong baseball athlete until the age of 20. This was my first true love.
I played football in high school with the privileged of holding a state championship ring.. 36-6 Holy Ground Stallions defeating Harvester Christian… Go stallions.
I was absent from the weight room for most of my life outside of my brief experience during summer training camps for football. CFGC was ultimately the first time I had truly strength trained. Since 2019, I have grown in my abilities and I am now a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and undeserving owner of CrossFit Goose Creek.
I have 2 years of official coaching experience and I find joy in being able to help others achieve their goals. I will often skip my own workout in order to see others succeed and I believe that trait was developed from the influence my parents and high school coach had on my life.
Ultimately, introduce yourself. I want to hear your story and I want to see you succeed.
